Rusty Satellite 150 – Brandon Coan and Mike Mays

Until now, I’m not sure I had ever done anything once a week for 150 straight weeks, but here is the 150th Rusty Satellite Show. It’s my goal to bring you interviews from the most interesting people in the ‘Ville, and I’ve outdone myself this week.
Fresh off his surprise victory in the District 8 Metro Council primary, Brandon Coan stopped in to the studio to talk about how he did it and what he’s got planned when he gets into office next year. He’s certainly got a great bunch of ideas, including term limits for Council members and the Mayor.
You have to have been around town a long time toRS150BrandonSummer remember when there just weren’t any coffee shops, but Mike Mays can tell you all about it. In this interview, he talks about how he got Heine Brothers started ate a time when the idea of going to a public place to work on your computer was a novel idea. And he’s got some news — Heine Bros. is developing a property in Portland that will provide a home to his growing staff and a place to package his products. The facility may also be a part of a growing part of the city — where the proposed Western extension of Waterfront Park will go.
There’s plenty more to talk about — there’s the Preakness, the NRA and the Buy Local Fair all going on this weekend. I also update you on the results of the election. Join me for Episode #150 of the Rusty Satellite Show.
