What is a podcast?
A podcast is simple – it’s a prerecorded audio program that is made available over the internet. The “on demand” nature of podcasts allow us to talk about very specific topics that appeal to a specific audience (e.g. relationships, business, horse racing, family stuff) and cut the fat of a traditional talk radio show. We have sponsors, but not commercials. You don’t have to wait for us to talk about the topic in which you’re interested…we do it for the entire program!
Podcasts are not necessarily new, but with the onslaught of smart phones, they’re becoming easier and easier to access. We live in an on-demand world where you can have what you want, when and where you want it. Disappearing are the days where you sit and wait for your favorite TV shows, music, magazine issues, or other content to come to you. Now…you’re going out and getting it.
Louisville.AM’s focus is to provide you what nobody else in Louisville is: great conversations about what’s going on in our city by people who live here and love the thing they’re talking about.
How do I listen to a podcast?
You probably carry an iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or Windows Phone device. There are several podcast apps available on each of those operation systems. The apps allow you to subscribe to the podcasts you like so new episodes are always updated and appear automatically. They’ll also run while you’re doing other things on your phone so you can multitask while filling your brain with the stuff you like.
